I made contact with the webmaster who ran the site on a free Tripod server
in 2002 and offered to register the school name and provide hosting for
www.tulsehillschool.co.uk free of charge. I have taken the liberty of using all of the previous content, if anyone who provided any content has any objections please let me know and I will remove it. It will take a bit of time for me to transfer all of the content so please bear with me - hopefully it will be worth it!! So, let's try to revive the old school with some new and fresh content - I can't do it without the help of any ex-pupils or anyone else who may have been connected with, or had any interest in Tulse Hill School.

My name is Harry Broadrick, but always pronounced 'Broderick'. I was born in 1945 in Weybridge where we had been evacuated to during the war. We moved to the Tulse Hill Estate in 1948, I lived at 47 Purser House and remained there until I got married in 1963. My primary school was Brockwell Park, which was about 100 yards from where we lived. I started Tulse Hill School in Sept. 1956 which I think was the first intake. As far as I can remember my forms were 1L1, 2L2, Art 3rd and Art 4th. My route to school was up Leander Road to the shops, turn left into Elm Park and straight on past the Strand Grammar School to the back gates. The shops remain clear in my memory because Clark's the sweet shop would sell you single cigarettes!! To my shame, I remember very few of my old mates, Jimmy Read who was a neighbour in Purser House being an exception. My memory also lets me down when it comes to the teachers, I do remember the Deputy Head - Mr. Loveless, loveless by name and loveless by nature!! but a good fair man with no favourites. My Latin teacher Mr. Corney could hit a fly at 100 yards with the backboard duster, a misnomer if ever there was one as it was as hard as a rock! I know because it provided me with a sharp reminder to pay attention in his class! Most of my summers were spent between in the Lido at Brockwell Park and the Nirvana Coffee Bar in Tulse Hill opposite the skating rink.
